Ch 1: Divorce
Author: Da La
The courtroom was brightly lit by cold white energy lamps. A zerg dressed in formal judge’s attire sat on the judge’s bench, hesitating to lower the gavel in his hand.
Finally, his hand released the gavel, and he looked up once more at the female seated at the prosecution bench.
He spoke, asking, “Lord Alles, have you truly made up your mind?”
The silver-haired female zerg at the prosecution bench, with a face as pale as paper, had faint eyebrows framing a pair of indifferent blue eyes, deep and inscrutable, revealing nothing of his thoughts. Beneath his prominent nose, his thin lips were slightly pursed, indicating his displeasure.
His tall figure was outlined by a pale-colored, knee-length coat, while his hands hung tightly by his side, veins bulging.
Rather than immediately responding to the judge, he looked towards the male zerg seated beside him.
That despicable zerg sat on a high-backed chair, his face angular but not particularly handsome. His greedy gaze swept over Alles back and forth, as if regarding his possessions, or perhaps discarded objects.
“Alles, do you regret it now? After all, there are only a few high-ranking males in the entire Zerg race. And I, am the most suitable one you can get close to. Just stay obediently at home, I will regularly provide you with pheromones. Don’t think about things you shouldn’t. Someone like you, without any feminine allure, cannot compare to a sub-female with a soft body. Who else would want you?”
The shameless words echoed in Alles’ ears. He watched, feeling a chill in his heart, as the male beside him was intimate with the sub-female, completely indifferent to this trial that was of utmost importance to him.
Indeed, Augustus was the male zerg with the highest A-level spiritual compatibility with him, and his mental sea was already on the brink. So, he had used the resources of the company and even the family to make himself the male zerg’s female monarch.
He had thought that this male was gentle and graceful. He had thought that even if life after marriage was not very happy, at least they could live in peace.
However, it was clear that he was wrong.
The male zerg was extremely violent at home, and his methods of abuse were no different from those of ordinary males, or even worse.
On their wedding night, Alles was insulted and injured all over his body, kneeling at the door all night.
That night, Augustus didn’t touch him, and neither did he in the future, as if he knew that Alles had come for his pheromones and deliberately teased him.
His body was not as strong as an ordinary female zerg’s to begin with, and his wounds healed extremely slowly. On the contrary, he had all sorts of ailments, needing to take medicine every day, unable to withstand such abuse.
Of course, there was another reason: Augustus didn’t allow him to work, not even allowing him to work from home.
So, less than a month after their marriage, Alles took him to court.
In this world where males were dominant and females were submissive, once a female married a male, he had to obey unconditionally. Someone like Alles, who took his male master to court, was unprecedented. Therefore, countless pairs of eyes were watching this trial today.
Alles’ voice was cold, his tone icy. “I agree to divide the property into a ratio of one to five, with one part for me and five for Augustus. And within three days, find a new male master.”
Augustus’ lazy expression stiffened, and he grabbed the sub-female’s throat under him. The sub-female’s face turned purple from being choked, but he didn’t dare make a sound. Augustus soon reverted back to his gentle appearance.
There were plenty of female insects, and he had originally married him for his wealth. As for that face, weren’t there many others who could replace him?
Although surprised by Alles’ decisiveness, the temptation of vast wealth was too great, so he didn’t say much, just sighed seemingly disappointed.
“Well, since you’re so determined, I have no choice.”
Augustus looked up at the judge, who was also a female insect, being looked at so gently by a male insect. Any softness in her heart disappeared instantly, and he immediately picked up the gavel.
With one strike of the gavel, there was no turning back.
At that moment, except for a few extreme male zerg enthusiasts and the males themselves, all the imperial citizens watching the livestream fell silent.
For Lord Alles, and for themselves.

In the luxurious area of the noble district in the imperial capital, Alles stood by the French window, his face as pale as ever, his eyelashes trembling slightly with a sense of brokenness.
It had been a day, and there was still no news from the matchmaking center. What should he do…?
He looked up at the vast starry sky, feeling a sense of powerlessness rushing over him like a flood, feeling as if all the oxygen in his lungs had been sucked away.
Knock, knock, knock—
The sound of knocking on the door came, and Alles regained his composure, his face still pale.
“Come in.”
The door lock clicked, and a middle-aged man in a steward’s uniform entered with a heavy expression, bowing to Alles.
“Master, there is currently no male insect that matches you, but…”
The steward seemed to have encountered a problem, a rare moment of hesitation.
“What is it?” Alles asked coldly.
“A male who has just returned from the army, and has made great contributions, has appeared in the matching pool.”
“Male zerg? From the army?”
The army… in Alles’ world, this was taboo. His weak body since childhood had forced him to deviate from the normal life trajectory of a female.
Fortunately, the family he belonged to did not accumulate wealth through military merit, but through their already existing wealth.
So, after the deaths of his male and female parents, as the eldest son of the family, it was only natural for him to take over all the family’s businesses.
But a weak male zerg even weaker than himself, why would he go to the army?
“Level of pheromones.” Suddenly, he asked out the most important question.
“It has not been registered temporarily, but all other information is available, please take a look.” With that, the steward handed him a stack of papers.
Alles took it and casually glanced at it, but his gaze lingered on the attached photo for a moment. His handsome features were extremely impactful when not smiling, and his furrowed eyebrows suddenly relaxed as he looked back at the “unknown” in the level column.
Alles was a businessman, and he was very capable of weighing the pros and cons.
A hint of a smile flashed in his azure eyes. Since there was no hope, why not take a gamble?
“Apply to match with this bug immediately, at all costs!”

The cold light of the moon shattered and fell on Alles’ cuff, he moved his fingers, feeling the coolness of the moonlight.
“Master, that male zerg has agreed.”
Alles showed no surprise. After all, his wealth was a huge temptation for these male zergs.
Lowering his gaze, he remembered his property being divided. A layer of gloom covered his azure eyes, turning them from blue to deep blue, like the endless danger in the depths of the sea.
After a long time, his silver hair slid down from his shoulders, reflecting the cold white light.
“Prepare. I’ll go tomorrow night.”
“Yes.”
After the steward answered, he remained behind and did not leave, smelling a bitter taste in the air.
The fair, almost translucent hand lifted the bowl of dark soup, drinking it all in one go. The mouth was filled with endless bitterness, and Alles closed his eyes, his long eyelashes trembling, fragile and broken.
The steward looked at the slender and bone-like wrist, sighing inwardly.
