Ch 12: Ning’s Silence
Author: Da La
Luo Wen felt like the male in front of him had gone mad. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, adjusting his posture.
“Apologies, Your Excellency, I didn’t catch what you just said. Could you repeat it?” His tone was very serious.
With an amused smile, Wen Ran placed the documents he had just finished examining in front of Luo Wen, the female doctor who had suddenly become polite to him.
With his hands in his pockets, he calmly reiterated his request for an extension of service and the possibility of joining the military.
Jokingly, he mentioned that the military pay was incomparable to what was offered here.
Luo Wen didn’t know what expression to put on in response to this male zerg. He seemed to think that killing a few pests would get him into the military.
Indeed, males seemed to have no idea of their own limitations!
Of course, at this moment, the information-isolated Luo Wen didn’t know that Wen Ran had once served in the military.
“Forgive my bluntness, Your Excellency. Although you are Lord Alles’s male master, this will only shorten your service term and not get you into the military department.”
In the imperial capital, the citizens were well aware that the Alles family ranked top in business. However, due to familial genetics, they had no voice in the military sphere.
Luo Wen looked displeased as he glanced at Wen Ran. He couldn’t understand what Lord Alles saw in this arrogant and unintelligent male, apart from his appearance.
But Wen Ran persisted, firmly and resolutely.
Just then, an assistant claiming to be from the Male Zerg Association knocked on the medical room door.
The female zerg had delicate features and a gentle demeanor, giving the impression of being easy to get along with.
He leaned towards Wen Ran. “Sir, please don’t take offense. We received a report stating that you have again assaulted a high-ranking male. Last time, it was fully handled by law enforcement, and we didn’t intervene.”
Pausing briefly, he seemed hesitant and glanced at the male, who showed no signs of anger or interrogation, before continuing.
“But, this time, it’s a serious matter, and we need to understand the details.”
Wen Ran took some time to grasp the female zerg’s words.
She just wanted to see him punished.
Wen Ran felt that although he wasn’t at fault, achieving his goal this way wouldn’t hurt.
So, a strange scene unfolded. The accused male zerg wasn’t angry. Instead, his eyes sparkled as he expressed willingness to accept punishment, extend his service term, and even go to the battlefield if allowed.
The female zerg had clearly never seen such a male before. He dumbly recorded what he said and then escorted him out.
Wen Ran smiled as he looked at Luo Wen. “Doctor, please handle this impartially.”
Luo Wen wore a baffled expression and immediately wrote a report requesting a change in departmental role and an extension of service term for the member.
“Submit these two documents to the HR department and the law enforcement department, but don’t rejoice too soon. During the review period, you’ll still have to stay here and continue your work.”
Wen Ran’s dark eyes held a hint of amusement. “Yes, doctor.”
Wen Ran’s married status quickly spread throughout the Third Military Legion, along with the incident of him assaulting a male insect for Lord Alles.
Wen Ran and Luo Wen were sitting at a desk sorting through documents when suddenly, the call bell from the neighboring room rang.
Work had to be shared, after all.
Luo Wen gestured for Wen Ran to continue with his task while he went to pick up the phone.
Was it planned? Buck and Zengla rushed in, one after the other, and stood on either side of Wen Ran, their expressions unusually serious.
“If you’re being threatened, just blink.”
“If that’s not possible, a deep breath will do.”
Upon hearing this, Wen Ran blinked slowly and took a deep breath.
“See! I told you! With Wen Ran’s low rank, how could he possibly attract Lord Alles’s attention? There must be some dirty dealings between the two zerg!”
After hearing this discourse, Wen Ran finally came to his senses and rubbed his temples helplessly.
What’s going on? Are they worried about him?
Watching the two zerg lost in their own thoughts, Wen Ran decisively raised his hand and gave each of them a slap.
Of course, on the back of their heads.
“Ouch! Why did you hit us, Wen Ran?”
“Yeah, and here we were, worried about you!”
The two females were extremely angry, feeling like they had been taken advantage of by Wen Ran.
Wen Ran chuckled. “No, Ning is fine. We’re very happy together.”
Buck and Zengla: …?
Wen Ran laughed as he watched the two females walk away in embarrassment.
And so, this piece of news was once again spread throughout the entire Third Military Legion by these two “informants.”
Naturally, Wen Ran had no idea about this and was very happy because his wife had contacted him.
On the video, the female zerg sat upright in his office chair. His suit jacket has been removed, and the shirt’s collar was undone.
Wen Ran lingered for a moment on the delicate pale collarbone before shifting his gaze.
Finally unable to resist, he spoke up. “Ning, put your clothes back on. You’ll catch a cold.”
The room temperature was definitely not cold, but this sentence concealed a different intention.
Ning paused for a moment at Wen Ran’s words but was no longer panicking.
His slender, pink-tipped fingers lightly touched the collar as his long and thick eyelashes cast a shadow.
Ning looked at Wen Ran, and a few words slipped from her slightly pink lips. “You’re right, Your Excellency.”
Wen Ran felt his nose heat up, and he instinctively covered it, feeling like he was ignited by fire.
But Ning seemed genuinely focused on business. ” Your Excellency, I’m sorry I didn’t disclose our relationship earlier and caused you such distress.”
“But now, Your Excellency, you can return home and enjoy the comfort that belongs to you.”
Ning’s eyes were sincere, and the joy was evident in Wen Ran’s dark eyes.
Wen Ran covered his nose and watched the female zerg on the screen. At that moment, he seemed to understand why Ning remained silent whenever he mentioned going out to work.
In this society, males were supreme, and females were divided into two categories, sub-females, and true female zerg.
Compared to true females, sub-females were softer and naturally more favored by males. But the only things female zerg relied on were the money and power they held.
The Zerg race was a military power, and the so-called “power” naturally referred to military authority. Ning had almost no say in this aspect. However, in terms of “money,” Wen Ran knew his wife was exceptionally wealthy.
Wen Ran suddenly felt that his wife was a bit cute. Was he trying to tie him down with money?
In fact, if Ning heard this question, he would definitely answer seriously, “Yes!”
Author’s note:
Wen Ran: What should I do if my wife wants to tie me down with money? Online and waiting, quite urgent.
Ning: What should I do if my Lord doesn’t want my money? Online and waiting, really urgent!Ah ah ah ah ah! \\\?( ‘ω’ )? ////
