Ch 16: General?
Author: Da La
Wen Ran sensed that his mate wasn’t in the best mood. Occasionally, his gaze turned icy, and he looked at him with elegantly furrowed brows, as if he were facing a particularly challenging task.
As he looked at the terminal screen displaying “Your application has been approved. Please report tomorrow at 8 a.m.,” he sighed.
“Your Excellency, it’s mealtime. Please come to the dining table,” he said.
Collapsing onto the sofa, Wen Ran noted the refined but cold tone.
Ning stood straight at the dining room entrance, silently gazing at him. Though his eyes seemed calm, Wen Ran could detect a hint of grievance and stubbornness.
Feeling uneasy, Wen Ran quickly rose and approached Ning, gently taking his slender, pale hand.
“Ning, why are you so restless?” The deep voice of the male zerg resonated in his ears, causing Ning to tremble involuntarily.
Looking up at the gentle and handsome male before him, Ning felt a pang in his heart. The male zerg had promised him many times, and Ning believed that no other female had ever received such supreme affection.
Was it because of this that he harbored some dark desires, even daring to defy his own male master?
He was indeed an incompetent female monarch.
Ning placed Wen Ran’s hand over his chest and bowed respectfully to him.
This was reserved for the female monarch.
If that was the case, why not take advantage of this kindness and let his male master love him more?
” Your Excellency, everything is as I wish,” Ning said, feeling the coolness of the skin against his own. The feeling of relief washed over him.
Yes, just like handling work with some small tricks.

In the light shining on this immature pair, they stood together, their figures heading towards an endless future.
The coverage of the Third Military District was extensive, and Wen Ran remembered the medical area was not far from the military center.
He stepped onto the elevator leading to the top floor. The speed was fast, and with a “ding,” he arrived.
Ignoring the curious or surprised glances around him, Wen Ran walked straight to General Los’s office.
“Knock, knock, knock.”
The sound was not loud, and after three knocks, it stopped, waiting for a response from inside.
“Please come in.”
The voice was faint, carrying a hint of cool mint.
“General Los, thank you very much for approving my application.”
Wen Ran’s demeanor was not frivolous like that of typical male zerg; instead, it was dignified.
General Los looked at the male with a complex gaze.
He clearly remembered how this male zerg, who couldn’t be detected with pheromones and had no wings, had slaughtered the enemy on the battlefield and even led the army to repel the invasion of the alien beasts when the commander had an accident.
In this era corroded by peace, they needed such a commander.
With this in mind, he agreed to the application.
General Los rose and walked around.
“Wen Ran, you don’t need to be so polite,” General Los said, gently supporting the male zerg who knew how to bow to female, a genuine smile appearing on his stern face.
“Wen Ran, I am glad to be working with you again.”
Wen Ran straightened up and nodded slightly.
“Wen Ran, this year the army has recruited many new females. It’s up to you to handle them.”
General Los glanced meaningfully at the adjacent training ground building, the domain of the military females.
Wen Ran also looked over, suddenly recalling his initial arrival scene, and couldn’t help but smile.
“Our comrades are very active. It’s my honor.”
There weren’t many polite words; they got down to business.
“General?”
Wen Ran mingled with the troops, naturally aware of the military ranks.
How could he, a mere soldier, suddenly be promoted to such a high position?
Seeing his confusion,General Los pointed to the thorn-shaped diamond ring on his hand.
“I haven’t congratulated you yet. Congratulations on your marriage.”
“Of course, Lord Alles’s identity is just a small part of the reason. You have performed exceptionally well in your years in the military. Initially, to ensure your personal safety, we had to keep it secret and didn’t give you the highest honors.”
Of course, there was also an unspeakable reason that was well known.
The marshal’s confrontation with the emperor had reached a fever pitch, with both wielding power over the lives and deaths of the empire’s subjects.
And the male before him seemed to have entered this game, quietly becoming the perfect pawn hidden by the marshal.
“This is our highest apology to you. Please accept it.”
As Wen Ran’s superior, he couldn’t kneel directly, but he still lowered his head.
This courteous male zerg would probably be ashamed and angry. After all, this was a belated reward, obtained through others.
Wen Ran reached out and touched the medal symbolizing his rank as a general.
Look, Ning, you will fight alongside me.
With an expressionless face, Wen Ran, under General Los’s watchful gaze, put the badge representing the rank of general into his pocket, intending to use it to please his female monarch later.
General Los: …
This is not what I expected!
Wen Ran understood that many things could not be investigated in detail. He didn’t like trouble, so he just smiled, indicating that he would return to the military unit he had originally applied for and left General Los’s office after receiving permission.
