Remarriage [Zerg] – Ch 20

Ch 20: His foot pressed against his shoulder

Author: Da La

The superior indulged in false glory, overlooking from the skybox, greedily seeing only a flourishing era.

His wrinkled face twisted with a smile, making the sub-female trembling at his side.

“Dong—dong—dong.”

The slow footsteps approached, finally kneeling before the zerg Emperor.

“Respected Emperor, please forgive my audacity,” he said, bowing reverently to the slightly bowed figure.

A silence fell, no one daring to speak, only the slightly heavy breath of the zerg emperor could be heard.

Finally, the emperor slowly turned around, the luxurious treasures worn to showcase his nobility swaying with his movement.

With narrowed eyes, he immediately approached by a sub-female, quietly inquiring about the newcomer’s intentions.

After asking, the sub-female leaned in to convey what he had heard to the emperor.

Unexpectedly, in the moment he finished speaking, the sub-female’s neck was seized by the emperor, his strength increasing.

The sub-female’s eyes filled with endless panic, her trembling lips unable to utter a plea for mercy.

Though his white hands wanted to remove the hand imprisoning his neck, he didn’t dare to touch it, only weakly grasping at the air, like a small creature that’s drowning.

The kneeling zerg watched the pleading eyes of the sub-female about to be deprived of life, feeling not a shred of compassion, but rather slowly curling his lips in front of him like a devil in paradise.

Suddenly, the emperor released his grip, and the sub-female collapsed to the ground, gasping for air.

“Be prepared tonight.”

The sub-female’s complexion was already pale, and upon hearing this, the last trace of color drained from his face, yet he still had to force the ugliest smile to bid farewell to the emperor.

In the magnificent hall, a marshal in a deep blue military uniform knelt on the pure white ground, one hand on his shoulder and the other hanging down, wearing white gloves.

His expressionless face exuded a calm and restrained aura, but the slightly pursed lips revealed his urgency; he was waiting for the Zerg Emperor.

Until his legs grew numb, the heavy and slow footsteps gradually sounded.

Like a decaying and decrepit soul, exuding a deathly aura.

The marshal, with a slightly stiff neck, looked up as an old male zerg slowly took his seat above.

Sebey looked back down, pressing his upper body against his bent legs, murmuring words of eternal blessings to the Emperor.

“Sebey, what is it?”

The marshal tightened his hand hanging on the ground and straightened his upper body, the elegant lines under the military uniform looking very handsome.

The Emperor ignored the marshal’s cold gaze, scanning his lean and powerful body back and forth, like a wild dog drooling over juicy meat.

“Emperor, please return the token for the five major military regions to me.”

The Emperor didn’t care about Sabey’s rudeness, but instead, spoke with interest.

“Oh? Marshal, what do you mean?”

Sebey didn’t bother to kneel, standing up directly. He endured the weakness in his legs and looked directly at the pretending-to-be-deaf male zerg.

“Emperor, I believe you already know. The borderlands are under attack by foreign tribes, and the situation is very unfavorable for our race.”

As he spoke, Sebey’s violet eyes seemed to be filled with ice shards, turning colder and colder.

“But at this time, you have to use the token to summon all the commanding officers of the five major military regions to the palace. You…”

“What exactly do you want to do!”

Seeing the usually calm marshal show such a demeanor, the corners of the Emperor’s eyes even reddened with excitement, and ugly emotions filled the dark depths of the Emperor’s eyes.

He stood up, the gorgeous robes trailing on his body, and approached the marshal, stopping just in front of him.

“Marshal, kneel down. The consequences of disrespecting the Emperor are something you cannot bear.”

The marshal, without a word, knelt down again, and the Emperor, satisfied, smiled.

He stepped on the marshal’s shoulder, applying slight pressure.

But the marshal didn’t yield to his force; his slender waist remained straight, fuelling the zerg Emperor’s desire to conquer.

In a world without limitations on power, once deformed desires arise, they will grow unchecked until they consume the host completely.

The Emperor displayed a silver-white token in front of the marshal, as he had expected, the marshal’s eyes filled with dark colors, his hand reaching for the token in the emperor’s hand, but the zerg Emperor took a step back.

“Sebey, tonight, your soldiers are waiting for you.”

The meaningful words made the marshal’s face instantly pale. He couldn’t believe it, how could he dare, now that he had reached this position?

Childhood memories kept colliding in his mind, like countless evil spirits coalescing behind him into substance, dragging him into the abyss.

“Sebey, this is the Imperial Crown Prince, pay your respects…”

“Sebey, you smell so good, let me have a sniff…”

“Sebey, you can’t escape…”

“Sebey…”

The doors behind the throne closed with a muffled sound.

Sebey suddenly woke up from his memories, kneeling despondently in place, his trembling eyelashes revealing the panic of childhood in his purple eyes.

Digging his fingertips into the ground, traces of blood gradually spread, Sebey’s eyes pitifully red.

In the empty hall, he cried silently, without sound, without tears, gradually, a stiff smile appeared on his lips.

As panic receded, only numbness remained. He slowly walked towards the place where the Emperor had disappeared.

As the dazzling medals disappeared into the darkness, they lost their radiance.
