Remarriage [Zerg] – Ch 9

Ch 9: Fighting

Author: Da La

Zengla abruptly stood up, incredulous as he watched the male queue up at the window for food.

No way, how did he come back!

It’s widely known that admiration is one thing, but whether you want to see the other person is another.

Buck and Zengla remained quite composed, neatly setting down their food, intending to slip away unnoticed.

But as bugs would have it, Wen Ran happened to spot the two.

He stood still with his tray, scanning the area again, confirming that this group of military zergs was just as warm and lively as before.

However, he couldn’t cope with it. In that moment, he thought of the cold but shyly charming zerg waiting for him at home.

Nodding solemnly in his mind, he concluded that his mate was the one he truly favored.

His thoughts were brief. When Wen Ran came to, his hand was already on Zengla’s shoulder.

“Where to?”

Zengla turned around somewhat stiffly, a surprised expression on his face.

“Wen Ran!”

Of course, Buck couldn’t escape either, trailing along with a wide grin.

“We’re not going anywhere, haha~ Oops!” Buck was interrupted by Zengla’s punch.

Unaware of these small gestures, Wen Ran instinctively approached what he was familiar with.

“Let’s eat and then fight together.”

The two hesitant zergs agreed repeatedly.

Wen Ran was very serious when he ate, every movement exuding innate nobility, resembling a high-ranking noble bug.

But only to a certain extent.

“Wen Ran, are you married?”

Zengla looked at Wen Ran, curiosity making him scratch his head. After all, this guy had only been out for a few days. How had he managed such a big life event without anyone noticing? He couldn’t help but ask.

Wen Ran paused, his union with Ning was hasty, especially since he had just finished his service and was immediately informed of the marriage, skipping several steps and being sent straight to the bridal chamber.

Come to think of it, it seemed like no other zerg knew about this.

He looked at Zengla, a hint of a smile playing on his handsome face. “Guess?”

Zengla smiled, not daring to get angry or speak.

“Wen Ran, what are you doing here?” The new recruits who had just arrived today didn’t see Wen Ran among them, indicating he wasn’t here for frontline combat.

“I’m from the medical team. I’ll be bandaging you up if you get injured in the future.”

His deep, pleasing voice sounded trustworthy, nothing like what a zerg who knew nothing would say.

Mealtime at the military base was very brief, but today, most zerg didn’t leave early. Instead, they secretly glanced at Wen Ran.

Those dozens of gazes were filled with burning curiosity.

Finally, someone walked up to Wen Ran.

To others surprise, it wasn’t one of the fiery ones full of curiosity, but Karl.

Zengla took a deep breath, things weren’t looking good.

Karl approached Wen Ran with a proud and disdainful look, slamming his hand directly on the table.

“Inferior male zerg, no matter how well you disguise yourself, you’ll still disgusting!”

After hearing this, Wen Ran found it a bit amusing and looked up at this military female who had suddenly appeared from nowhere.

Never having fought before, he realized he didn’t recognize him.

He recalled how he had made friends with military females before. With a good temper, he made a friendly suggestion: “Want to fight?”

Private brawling was prohibited in the military, so Wen Ran skillfully made his way to the training ground.

The Empire’s military was divided into five major military districts.

And the military district where he had previously served was the third, where he was somewhat familiar with everything except the logistics department.

He turned around, looking at the zerg who was provoking him.

Huh? His complexion seemed a bit off.

He politely inquired about the other’s condition and, upon receiving an affirmative answer, promptly punched him.

Although Karl didn’t react in time, he thought his sturdy physique would be enough to withstand Wen Ran’s blow. After all, males were usually weaklings.

But with the strong impact came pain that swept through Karl’s entire body. Before he could even scream, Wen Ran swiftly stepped forward, sweeping his legs, and Karl instantly fell to the ground. He didn’t even know how this male had managed to knock him down before he fell.

Zengla and the others who had worked with Wen Ran all wore expressions of “I knew it.”

They shouted at Karl, who struggled on the ground and couldn’t get up.

“Unweaned zerg, this is your senior!”

“Haha, you’ll have him treat your injuries later!”

Karl lay on the ground, his face almost purple. How could he have known that such a weak male had been on the battlefield!

Wen Ran walked up to Karl, poking the spot on Karl’s body where he had kicked him.

With a bright smile, he said, “Let’s go, to the medical room.”

A rare glint of embarrassment flashed in Karl’s eyes. Damn it!

In the medical room, Wen Ran stood calmly next to Dr. Luo Wen, ignoring the old friends lying outside the door.

Karl looked at Wen Ran disdainfully. “Are you here to treat me?”

Wen Ran felt that he was just a male, not a zerg god, so of course, he couldn’t do everything. Besides, he was here for moral support.

So, Wen Ran lowered his gaze to the female who harbored inexplicable hostility toward him.

“My job is to provide moral support. Specific treatment requires a professional doctor.”

“Moral support? Just standing there?” Karl looked incredulous. How could a male zerg freeload so shamelessly!

Wen Ran modestly smiled, “Yes.”

Karl sneered, but as soon as he grinned, he hissed in pain.

Dr. Luo Wen scolded impatiently, “Damn it, I have to clean up the mess from your fight. You bunch of brainless idiots!”

The once quiet medical room suddenly became noisy, and of course, Luo Wen was the first to disagree. Pointing at Wen Ran, he said, “You, get them out of here!”

Wen Ran stood in place, weighing his options for a few seconds before decisively approaching the group of military females.

With a push from the door, he pushed the females into the corridor, standing in front of them with his hands in his pockets.

The military females looked at Wen Ran, excited. Zerg god, this was their idol!

“Wen Ran, come back to the army.”

“In the past few years, you were forced to serve and couldn’t earn a military rank. Now that the world is peaceful, occasional star pirate raids are just playful. If you come back, with your strength, you’ll definitely be able to achieve merit and earn a rank!”

“Yes! A male zerg becoming an officer, even the zerg god wouldn’t have thought of that!”

Hearing this, Wen Ran thought it wasn’t a bad idea. After all, he was still familiar with the battlefield.

He looked at his former comrades-in-arms and smiled.

“Okay, I’ll apply.”

Although it was his first day on the job, Wen Ran’s position was truly unnecessary.

Dr. Luo Wen thought he was just here to bother him. Since he wasn’t doing anything there anyway, he might as well leave early.

Of course, this only strengthened Wen Ran’s determination to switch jobs.

Ning was busy with work, and the meals made by the household robot were simply inedible. Wen Ran rolled up his sleeves, planning to cook for himself and continue practicing the theory of self-sufficiency.

But before he could even start the facial recognition, the door opened.

“Ning!”

A look of surprise flickered in Wen Ran’s black eyes, along with a hint of joy that even he hadn’t noticed.

“Master, welcome home.” Ning smiled naturally, like the melting ice and snow of early spring, incredibly beautiful.

Wen Ran reached out and pulled Ning into his arms, rubbing against the female bug’s neck without a trace.

Caught off guard, Ning was gently pulled over by his master. His face was buried in the male zerg’s broad and solid chest, quite comfortable.

But, the male bug was carrying too much of other female zergs’ scent.

A hint of dimness flashed in Ning’s eyes as he reached out and hugged him back, attempting to increase the contact area.

This covert action didn’t catch Wen Ran’s attention, and he let go of the bug.

“Why are you back so early today?”

Ning lowered his head slightly, trying to use his hair to cover his slightly blushing ears.

“There wasn’t much to do at the company today.” Male zerg didn’t like overly proactive female mates; he couldn’t be that proactive.

Wen Ran didn’t do as he expected, but he miraculously discovered a hint of shyness in his female mate’s lowered eyes. He shook his head with a smile.

“Master, please wait, dinner will be ready soon.”

“Okay, do you need any help from me?” Wen Ran guessed that this always humble and gentle female zerg probably wouldn’t agree…

“If you’re willing.”

Huh? Wen Ran looked at his own female monarch, who was still gentle and beautiful, but seemed to be melting away. Wen Ran reached out and touched Ning’s white hair, soft and smooth as always. “Let’s go, I’ll help you.”
