Chapter 2
Author: Mr. Big Horn
As expected, it turned out to be a long and exhausting session.
Time seemed to drag on endlessly.
By the time Yan Zhen finally pulled out of Su Jinxin, the red hues of the sunset outside the floor-to-ceiling windows had completely faded, and the balcony was bathed in soft moonlight.
Su Jinxin hadn’t yet come down from the high of his climax, his body still flushed pink and trembling slightly, lying amidst the messy pillows and blankets, gasping for breath.
“So tired?” Yan Zhen asked gently, brushing the hair off Su Jinxin’s forehead.
Su Jinxin shook his head lightly. “No, I’m fine. Not tired.”
Yan Zhen knew he was just being stubborn, so he didn’t press further. He got up, threw on a robe, poured some water, and sat back down, cradling Su Jinxin as he helped him drink. “If you’re tired, just say so. There’s no need to tough it out.”
Su Jinxin leaned his head against Yan Zhen’s shoulder, holding the cup with both hands like a little hamster, sipping slowly. Hearing this, he gave an awkward smile.
At that moment, someone knocked on the door.
Yan Zhen frowned slightly. “What is it?”
“Sir, someone from the company is here.”
“Let them wait.”
“They’re standing at the entrance…”
Before the butler could finish, Su Jinxin had already struggled out of Yan Zhen’s embrace. “You should go, don’t delay work.”
Yan Zhen quickly wrapped an arm around his waist, pulling him back. “Don’t fuss, it’s nothing urgent.”
Su Jinxin, however, had already started putting on his clothes, buttoning up with a smile. “Mr. Yan, I watch the financial news.”
—Yan Zhen’s company’s recent merger was all over the headlines. It was hard to miss.
Yan Zhen was at a loss for words.
Su Jinxin leaned over and gave him a reassuring kiss on the cheek. “Go, work is important.” Then he exclaimed, “Oh no, I left my shoes at the door.”
“So what,” Yan Zhen sighed as he got dressed. “After all these years, why are you still worried about this?”
“Well…” Su Jinxin looked a bit troubled. He had always had this peculiar insistence. He didn’t mind accompanying Yan Zhen to private events but absolutely wouldn’t let anyone find out he stayed at Yan Zhen’s house. As he put it, “When everyone brings a companion to social events, it’s fine if I accompany you. But keeping someone at home is different. You’re a big boss, your image matters.”
Yan Zhen had always gone along with this—after all, he couldn’t win an argument over such things. So he helped call the butler to fetch the shoes.
But as soon as the company people were let in and a few words were exchanged, there was a loud “thud” from outside.
The sound was so startling that everyone inside jumped.
Yan Zhen was the first to realize what it was, his heart sinking as he cursed under his breath, running out without even changing his shoes.
—As expected, Su Jinxin had fallen.
If there was one flaw in Su Jinxin, it was his love for climbing balconies.
Whenever Yan Zhen called him over during workdays, he never waited for someone to let him in or used the front door, preferring to climb in through the balcony, saying it gave Yan Zhen a “Romeo and Juliet” feeling. Yan Zhen found it amusing and even set up hidden cameras to see how he came and went.
He watched twice when Su Jinxin came.
And twice when he left.
Scurrying along the walls like a little thief.
Yan Zhen couldn’t help but laugh.
He told the butler not to stop him anymore.
The butler immediately said, “We knew it was Mr. Su, so we let him in. Security here is tight.”
Su Jinxin had gotten so used to it that no one expected anything to go wrong.
—If only they had set up a ladder outside the balcony.
Su Jinxin deserved an “award for persistence in performance,” as he still remembered to roll towards the main road outside Yan Zhen’s garden even after falling.
But the garden was so large, where could he roll?
He ended up stuck in the bushes.
Curled up in a ball, trembling slightly in pain.
One look and Yan Zhen felt as if he’d been punched in the chest, his heart aching, and his limbs going cold. “What were you thinking?”
He was anxious, so his tone was harsh.
Su Jinxin flinched. “Sorry, I just thought since I wasn’t needed, I’d go back and finish my work… Sorry…”
Yan Zhen saw his elbows and knees scraped and bloody, yet he didn’t even dare to cry out in pain, forcing a smile and apologizing. Yan Zhen’s heart tightened, his brows knitting into a deep frown. Gritting his teeth, he carefully lifted Su Jinxin into his arms, avoiding his injuries. “Don’t move, or you’ll get scars. Are your bones okay? Where does it hurt?”
Su Jinxin quickly pulled out a bright smile. “I’m fine, just a little trip.”
Yan Zhen wanted to say something more.
He opened his mouth but couldn’t find the words. With a dark expression, he told the butler to bring distilled water, intending to clean Su Jinxin’s wounds first.
